Spread the word – work with us
There are so many great ways that we can work together to inform and motivate others on the benefits and beauty of planting NOVA Natives.
1. Let us know you’re interested
-
Check out our list of jobs (big and little) for which help is needed.
-
Complete the Volunteer Form to tell us your interests and how to contact you.
-
Send an email to tell us how you’d like to help.
-
Sign up for one of our volunteer events.
2. Community Outreach
-
Host Hometown Habitat screenings or other speaker events.
-
Staff booths. No experience necessary – we’ve provided lots of instructions.
-
Invite a Plant NOVA Natives speaker to your next meeting or event.
-
Submit articles to newsletters and media outlets. Use one of ours or write your own.
-
Forward our campaign updates to your own groups.
-
Peruse our Toolkit for inspiration on ways to spread the word. So many great resources to be found there!
3. Pitch in on the Campaign
-
All are welcome to our Steering Committee meetings, generally held monthly on a weekday morning. The schedule is on our Event Calendar.
-
Send us photos of Northern Virginia native plants in a garden setting to add to our collection.
-
Be a liaison to your local garden center. We are planning a big push to get the rest of them on board and need lots of help! Our sales pitch is very simple and appealing to nurseries – we just need people to carry the message and put on red stickers. (Current volunteers: order more supplies here.)
-
Many other practical tasks need to be done – just ask and we will gladly find ways for you to use your own skills and interests to contribute.
